IPE wood is a very strong heavy and dense wood – It is almost twice as dense as most woods and up to five times harder. IPE is rated very high in all the strength categories as well as durability and stability with a natural resistance to insect and decay. IPE has a Class A fire rating that is the same as given to concrete.
IPE is hard to work using hand tools. It is not easy to saw and requires high quality carbide blades and drill bits with pre-drilling before screwing essential. IPE is usually used in Residential and commercial decking fencing park benches patio tiles bridge building marine and exterior construction.
